What is Patanjali Yogpeeth
Patanjali Yogpeeth is named after Rishi Patanjali, the ancient codifier of yoga. The campus was established in 2006 under the Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust, with Baba Ramdev as its primary face and Acharya Balkrishna managing the operational and research functions.
The campus operates two adjoining sections:
Yogpeeth I (established 2006)
- Patanjali Ayurveda College
- Research library with restored and digitised ancient Sanskrit texts
- Ayurvedic hospital with inpatient and outpatient facilities
Yogpeeth II (established 2009)
- Yog Bhawan, a large auditorium for yoga, pranayama and meditation sessions
- Shradhalayam auditorium for spiritual programs
- Panchkarma and Shatkarma therapy centre
- Residential yoga camp accommodation
- Food and Herbal Park
The scale of the campus is one of its defining features. It is a working institution, hospital, college, research labs and a manufacturing base for Patanjali Ayurvedic products, not only a visitor attraction.

Ayurvedic Hospital and Free Consultation
The Ayurvedic hospital inside Yogpeeth I has capacity for up to 400 inpatients and handles outpatient consultations daily, served by over 40 Ayurvedic practitioners.
Outpatient visitors are eligible for a free Ayurvedic consultation. Conditions commonly treated include diabetes, hypertension, arthritis and digestive disorders. Medicines prescribed are Ayurvedic and available for purchase on campus, generally at competitive rates.
If you are visiting for a consultation, arrive early in the morning session. Bring any relevant medical records or prior prescriptions.
Yoga Camps and Programs
Patanjali Yogpeeth runs residential yoga camps throughout the year. These range from short-duration introductory camps to longer immersive programs covering pranayama, dhyan (meditation) and Vedic lifestyle practices. The Yog Bhawan in Yogpeeth II hosts the main group sessions.
For current program schedules, dates and registration, check divyayoga.com directly. Walk-in participation in the general morning yoga session is possible, but residential programs require advance registration.
